Summer Vibes - Home Is Where The Fun Is

With all the restrictions on travel and social gatherings looking to last for the next little while, I thought that maybe the best way to look at the situation is to appreciate what we already have. 

Summer 2020 proved to be exceptional for weather which helped us deal with the Covid-19 fatigue that everyone seems to be experiencing. 

We choose where we live for the most part because we like the style of house and the neighbourhood where the home is situated. 
The idea behind the Summer Vibe video promos is to remind us of the little things that can make us feel good about where we live.

So for 2020 and 2021 I will be looking to do more of these Summer Vibes Promos.

Summer 2020 is for Sellers!

Despite the province still waiting to open up fully and many of us still in a partial lockdown – the real-estate market in Pickering and the Toronto area has shown its resilience with homes and condominiums getting “over-asking” on many transactions. With so few "for sale" signs on neighbourhood lawns, there’s a bit of a frenzy going on with buyers.

3D Virtual Tours Now Available For New Listings

As the coronavirus pandemic seems to be here to stay for a while, it’s become clear that transitioning into online virtual spaces has become critical for those working in real estate. Not to mention that because of the state of the market, agents need to be more creative than they’ve ever been to have their listings stay relevant.

Enter Matterport.

Matterport is a technology that is designed to scan the interior of homes. The cameras and software work together to create a virtual tour of the home - one where you can actually walk through the home yourself. 

You can look up and down, left and right, move forward, backward, view in VR and even measure spaces.

Locked Down & Quarantined? What To Do!

January and early February 2020 were shaping up to be one of the hottest real estate markets in recent memory – and then Coronavirus came along. Mandated social distancing, business closures and financial uncertainty have brought the residential real estate market to a halt.

Despite being listed as an “essential service”, real estate agents and brokerages are seeing the population making personal safety a priority.  

Get Ready For The Big Comeback

We don't know what the economy will look like three, six, nine, or 12 months from now, but most of us think there will be a time when daily living returns to normal.  The backlog of real estate transactions along with home buyers and sellers that have put things on hold for months could make for a competitive housing market when life recovers.

Preparation is Paramount

At the most basic level, there are three steps to getting your home ready:

For those pondering a possible move or relocation in the future, now is the time to prepare! De-cluttering and purging! Spring 2020 Market In Full Swing

It may be winter but spring has sprung.
If you're a potential home seller and waiting for the tulips to sprout then you're waiting too long!
The Spring market is in full swing and the Seller's are going to benefit this year. The inventory is at an all time low in Pickering - meaning those few homes that are for sale will be in big demand.
"Increased competition between buyers has resulted in an acceleration in price growth," said TREB's chief market analyst, Jason Mercer, earlier this month. "Expect the rate of price growth to increase further if we see no relief on the listings supply front."

I've recently listed two homes that both sold within one day, proving TREB is on the right track with their market predictions for 2020.
"It's no secret that market conditions in Canada's largest cities have been largely defined by a growing supply and demand gap," explains Zoocasa's managing editor, Penelope Graham.
